13-15/5/2019 Moot court competition on the Law of the Sea 2020
**NILOS Moot Court Competition 2020**
The School of Law of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens will participate in the first edition of the NILOS Moot Court Competition, which will take place in Utrecht, The Netherlands on 13-15 May 2020.
The team of the University of Athens will participate in the first moot court simulating proceedings under Part XV of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. The moot court will simulate proceedings before the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) or the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or an Annex VII Arbitral Tribunal. The competition will be a unique opportunity to discuss fascinating issues of the law of the sea and also to engage with the many procedural facets of international dispute settlement.
We need to select a team of 3 to 5 members. The competition is open to all law students, undergraduate and postgraduate alike, both those enrolled for the academic year 2017-2018 and the incoming class of the academic year 2018-2019. They are invited to send a full CV as expression of interest to Associate Professor Maria Gavouneli: mgavoun[at]law.uoa.gr with copy to Dr. Efthymios Papastavridis: papastavridis[at]Academyofathens[dot]gr and Mr. Antonis Antonopoulos: a_antonis[at]law.uoa.gr. The deadline for applications is 15 November 2019, by 12:00 noon. The first meeting will take place on 18 November 2019 at 19:00, in the Athens PIL Room (Academias 47, 3rd floor).
